Terms

The rules for using I Want To: the widget, the public board and the developer console. Short and plain.

Draft · last updated 11 October 2026

Using I Want To

By creating an account, running a widget on your site, or leaving feedback through one, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy page. If you use I Want To for a company, you confirm you can accept them for it.

The service

I Want To lets a developer put a feedback widget on their site, show a public board of ideas, and manage feedback in a console. Visitors use the widget and board to send ideas, problems, questions and thanks, and to agree with what matters.

I Want To is in beta and free during the beta. Features can change or be interrupted. Before any plan costs money, we will tell developers in advance and nothing will be charged without their consent.

Accounts

You sign in with a code sent to your email, so keep that mailbox secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to your team. Give accurate information and keep it up to date.

If you are a developer

  • Register your site. The widget works only on the origins you add. Do not try to run it elsewhere.
  • Tell your visitors. You decide to collect their feedback, so you need a lawful basis and your own notice to them. Link to our Privacy page if it helps.
  • Keep sensitive data out of `meta`. No passwords, tokens, payment or health data. The values are set by your page, are not verified and are visible to your team.
  • Moderate responsibly. Official replies appear as coming from your team. You are responsible for what you publish and approve on your board.

If you use Campaigns

Campaigns (surveys, announcements, acknowledgements) are part of the PRO plan and are off until you turn them on. Turning them on means your site will set a visitor cookie and ask our server which campaigns to show.

  • Turn them on knowingly. The console shows what changes for your visitors. You confirm that you read it.
  • Describe the cookie. You must describe the cookie iwanto_vid in your cookie policy and show a cookie banner where the law requires one. If you choose to wait for consent, your site must pass the visitor’s choice to the widget.
  • Be honest in your texts. You write the texts. Do not mislead people, do not collect sensitive data such as health or beliefs, and do not use an acknowledgement to hide an important change.
  • Block with care. Use acknowledgements only for legal or contract changes. Give people a way out, and keep sign-in, payment and safety pages free of blocking windows.
  • You own the legal effect. We record that a person ticked the boxes, which version of the text and when. We do not give legal advice and do not guarantee how a court or regulator treats that record.
  • You decide the purpose. For answers collected through your campaigns you decide how the data is used, and we process it on your behalf under our data processing terms, available on request.

If you leave feedback

You keep ownership of what you write. You give the project and us permission to store it and, once approved, to show it publicly on the board and in the widget. You are responsible for it, and you confirm you have the right to share any image you attach.

Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, misleading or spam, or anything that exposes another person’s private information. Attachments are images only, up to 5 files of 5 MB.

What you must not do

  • No abuse. No attacks, scraping at scale, bypassing limits or security, or reverse engineering the service.
  • No spam through the widget. Including promotions, fake agrees and automated submissions.
  • No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another person, company or team.

Moderation and removal

Projects can review feedback before it is public. Teams can reject or remove content. We may also remove content, or suspend a project or account, that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why.

Our property

The I Want To name, logo, widget and console belong to us. You may use the widget with your own project as the service allows. The rest is not licensed to you.

Ending your use

You can delete a project or your account at any time, and your feedback goes with the project as described in the Privacy page. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms. Parts that by nature continue, such as ownership and liability, continue after that.

Warranty and liability

The service is provided as it is, without promises of uninterrupted or error-free operation, which matters most during the beta. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or lost-profit losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months, which is nothing during the beta. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we update the date above and tell developers by email before it applies. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
